In 2019, the Rotary Club of Edina completed a $400,000 global grant water project in Escuintla, Guatemala, in partnership with other Rotary Clubs from around the country and world and Water Missions International. This global grant funded the construction of a state-of-the-art water system, including a 40,000 water tower and a separate cholorination facility, serving a town of over 4,000 people. In 2019, club members traveled to Coban, Guatemala and delivered 659 water filtration units to remote villages in the mountains surrounding Coban, in partnership with area Rotary clubs and St. Patrick’s Church. This project brought fresh water to thousands of local people!
